I've been exploring some of Singapore's hidden food gems lately and my taste buds have never been happier! 😋
If you're looking to spice up your usual food routine and discover places that the locals love, let me take you on a little food adventure! 🌍🍴
🍤 1. Maxwell Food Centre - Hidden Hainanese Chicken Rice
This place is a classic local spot but still one of those underrated gems! Maxwell Food Centre is famous for its Hainanese chicken rice, and I can't get enough of it! 🐔
The chicken is super tender, and the rice is perfectly flavored.
My secret tip: Don't forget to add the chili and ginger paste for an extra kick!
Prices start from just S$5, and trust me, it's worth every penny. 🍚
🍜 2. Tiong Bahru Market - The Best Wanton Mee
Beyond London's lights lie misty moors, medieval marvels, and seaside stories begging to be told. Dare to go deeper?
Crumbling chapels, volcanic peaks, and ancient drinks—Armenia's mystery-laced landscape begs brave souls to explore. Are you one?
Flat? Never! Saskatchewan's wild lakes, lost worlds, and endless skies will shake up everything you thought you knew!
Ruins by day, revelry by night—Split's ancient magic and coastal beauty will leave you breathless. Ready to dive in?
Glaciers, tango, and endless skies—can one country truly hold it all? Argentina dares you to chase every breathtaking moment!
Think it's just beaches? Try pirate parades, wild horses, and secret seafood spots—Georgia's coast is full of shocking wonders!
Tiong Bahru Market is one of those places that has been around forever but somehow still feels like a secret. 🤫 It's a great place to grab a bowl of wanton mee!
The noodles are perfectly springy, and the char siew (BBQ meat) is heavenly.
If you're feeling adventurous, try their prawn wantons – you'll thank me later.
A bowl here costs around S$4, and you'll leave full and happy. 🍤
🥘 3. Lau Pa Sat - Satay Delights
Lau Pa Sat is an iconic hawker center in Singapore, but it's also where you can find the most amazing satay stalls, especially in the evening. 🌙
The skewers are perfectly grilled, and the peanut sauce is next-level.
It's such a vibe sitting under the canopy, enjoying the local flavors.
Expect to pay around S$1 per skewer—it's affordable and totally worth it for that smoky flavor. 🔥
🍚 4. Chinatown Complex - Delicious Dim Sum
Okay, this place is a bit of a hidden treasure for those who love dim sum. If you're a fan of those little bite-sized delights, you need to check out Chinatown Complex.
The dim sum here is crazy cheap, and the variety is insane. From steamed buns to dumplings, you'll get it all!
I highly recommend their siew mai and har gow—so juicy and fresh.
Prices start as low as S$3, so you can enjoy a whole meal without breaking the bank. 🥢
🍱 5. Old Airport Road Food Centre - Famous Nasi Lemak
If you haven't tried nasi lemak yet, where have you been?! 😱 Old Airport Road Food Centre has one of the best nasi lemak stalls I've ever had.
The rice is perfectly fluffy and coconut-flavored, and the sambal chili gives it that spicy kick!
You'll also find a crispy fried chicken and a hard-boiled egg to complement the dish.
Starting from S$4.50, it's the perfect hearty meal that won't disappoint. 🍳
